Happy Fall! Asia was awesome!

As I write this, I have my "Leaves" candle burning, and the days are definitely getting shorter...but sometimes seasons blend into each other here in California.  How could summer have blown past already? Does life seem FAST to you?  I was browsing through a gazillion photos trying to choose just a few to share with you about our recent trip to Asia, and I was stunned at all the...

No Mercy

I told my mom this story, and she said I should share it with everyone, so here it is: A few nights ago I had about an hour drive back to my house and it was late, so I stopped at a gas station for gas and a snack to keep me awake on the way home. The check out line inside the gas station mini-market was several people deep. As I cradled my arm full of snacks and sodas, I couldn't help...

Happy Summer! Finding Heroes and Rest

A couple of weeks ago I had the joy of leading worship at Joni and Friends Family Retreat outside Phoenix. I have long been a fan of the ministry of Joni Eareckson Tada, and these family camps are just one small sliver of the immeasurable joy and hope she has brought to people with special needs and their families around the world. If you're not familiar with Joni, you need to be (Click here)!...

Back from Zimbabwe

Hi, friends! Thank you so much for your prayers and support surrounding my trip to Zimbabwe.  It was incredible!  I met the most wonderful, humble, gentle, selfless,  joyful people.  I played with and helped lead worship for BEAUTIFUL, precious children I will never forget.  I was inspired, challenged, protected, and blessed, and...I learned a lot.  And of...

Being His Arms of Love in Zimbabwe

On April 16, 2019 I'm headed for an adventure...Zimbabwe. What a way to celebrate our Risen Savior--spreading the Good News! He is Risen and Alive!  He conquered death and sin for us!  He gives purpose, peace, power, His Holy Spirit, a home in heaven....so many gifts! My friend Tammy Scorziel and her husband Jeff live in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe full time, ministering to the people of ZImbabwe.

Looking Out at 2019's Horizon

Hi, friends!  Its March already and I can hardly believe that.  Months and seasons blow past so quickly, I feel like I need to take a glance at the Dollar Section bins at Target to remind me where we are! Easter is now upon us...the BEST time of year for Believers in Jesus for sure.  I'm excited about what God has in store this Easter season and beyond.  2019 is...

Good News and Sad News as we begin 2019

Happy New Year, friends!   Some good news...Madalyn (previous post; whom many of you have been praying for) was able to leave the hospital in December and be with her family for Christmas!  She is hopefully out of that hospital for good!  She still gets bad headaches (sadly, especially when laughing),  tires easily, and struggles with anxiety after that ordeal.  But...

Pray for Madalyn

UPDATE 10/11/2019: PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR MADALYN!  All was looking pretty good--she was in school and enjoying her nursing program.  She is sadly BACK in the hospital right now in Newport beach with severe headaches again, probably looking at another surgery.  Please lift her and her family up!  Thank you.   UPDATE 2/2019--Madalyn was able to leave the hospital...

Lasting Love in a Box

It seems like most of these traveling experiences are so fast- moving, its like a rushing river of images and emotions--and what I catch of it is a teeny sliver.  How I wish everyone could experience what I did when I took a trip to Mexico last year with Operation Christmas Child. My mind was blown and my faith was expanded! Our family has been packing Christmas shoe boxes for Operation...

Finding Family in the Philippines

Alayra is a name from the Philippines--Ron's dad was named Bayani (passed away over 30 years ago now). People in the Philippines recognize the name Bayani, but "Alayra" ---not so much.  But there is a little town on a little island over there where I found family...forever family. It all started one day when Ron and I were in a jet lag haze after returning from Indonesia and I saw...

Looking back and looking forward! Indo December 2017

I told you I was behind...this is a look back, and forward to Indonesia. Last December (2017) we headed to Indonesia for another round of concerts, workshops, fellowship and adventure.  Each time we head over there, I get MORE excited...to reconnect with friends and meet new ones, to step into worlds of beautiful children with whom God so generously allows me the extreme privilege...

A profound and simple calling in 2018

2018 so far has been a year of some pretty noteworthy adventures in my book.  Somewhere along the line recently, I've begun saying "Yes" whenever possible.  Sometimes a thing is not possible.  Sometimes I say yes and then it doesn't end up panning out.  But more often than not, a yes has resulted in an adventure...a thrilling, fulfilling, exhausting, faith-stretching...
